Abstract 

This review is a practical guide for candidates for the UK Membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists examination, and for those wishing to gain certification or the ATSM in colposcopy. Patient care is illustrated with four case studies, including discussion of wider issues relevant to management.
